A Course In MiraclesTeacher of Students Certification
The official 1st-degree certification addition for training to teach students of A Course In Miracles.
The Academy describes ACIM.TSC as the official Teacher of Students Certification Addition and Amendment to the A Course In Miracles Intensive. It is not a replacement for the Intensive: you must already have access to that year-long program in order to do this certification.
The curriculum turns study into demonstrated communication. Across twelve assessment parts, students revisit the Manual for Teachers, complete quizzes, develop increasingly substantial written essays, record progressively longer video lectures, and finish with completion assignments intended to show growing clarity, integration, and the capacity to communicate the material to students.

This certification is an addition to the A Course In Miracles Intensive.
The public program description is explicit that you must have access to the A Course In Miracles Intensive to do ACIM.TSC. The Intensive supplies the complete 365-lesson experiential foundation; this certification adds formal demonstration through the Manual for Teachers, quizzes, written essays, video lectures, and completion assignments.
Importantly, the current first-degree description says access to the Intensive is required. It does not state on this page that the entire Intensive must already be completed before entering ACIM.TSC. Full completion becomes an explicit requirement for the later Teacher of Teachers degree.
Teacher [of Students] Certification [Addition] – 1st° ACIM.TSC
Purpose stated by the AcademyTraining to teach students of A Course In Miracles through a curriculum focused on becoming a truly inspired ACIM teacher.
PreviewThe first five introductory lessons are currently marked as free previews.
Studying the Manual and earning this certification are two different pathways.
The separate Manual for Teachers discussion course is open without a prerequisite and is designed for understanding and lived application whether or not someone plans to teach. ACIM.TSC is different: it is specifically the first-degree certification addition to the Intensive and includes structured demonstration tasks—quizzes, essays, recorded lectures, an application form, and final assignments.
Manual Discussion Course
Section-by-section spiritual study of the Manual for Teachers. No prerequisite is stated, and certification is not the purpose.

The first certification degree adds structured demonstration of understanding and the ability to communicate the material to students.
Study, assess, explain, and communicate.
The public curriculum repeatedly combines Manual sections with three forms of demonstration. The assignments become more substantial as the program progresses.
Manual for Teachers
Work through the introduction and all twenty-nine Manual sections distributed across the twelve certification parts.
Part Quizzes
Each numbered part includes a quiz tied to its corresponding lesson range, creating regular checkpoints throughout the year-long structure.
Written Essays
Written demonstrations begin at 300 words, grow through 600, 900, and 1,200 words, and culminate in a 2,000-word completion essay.
Video Lectures
Recorded teaching demonstrations grow from five minutes to seven, ten, fifteen, and finally a twenty-minute completion lecture.
The assignments deliberately grow with the journey.
Rather than asking for the same response twelve times, the certification increases both written depth and speaking time as students advance.
Three responsive enrollment paths into the same certification course.
All three options lead to the same ACIM.TSC 1st-degree curriculum. The cards expand naturally to fill the available row and stack cleanly on smaller screens.

Study becomes practice; practice becomes demonstration.
The broader Open & Clear ACIM programs approach the material as experiential rather than merely doctrinal. The Text offers conceptual context, the Workbook provides 365 days of direct practice, the Manual asks what it means to demonstrate what has been learned, and this certification adds a structured way to communicate that understanding to students.
The Text
Conceptual and metaphysical context for the thought system students are learning to question, understand, and apply.
The Workbook
The 365-lesson experiential practice at the heart of both the Experience and Intensive pathways, turning ideas into daily observation and application.
The Manual & Demonstration
The Manual turns attention toward what lived understanding looks like. ACIM.TSC adds quizzes, writing, speaking, and completion work so that understanding is not left only as private intellectual agreement.
The 1st degree is the beginning of a larger teacher pathway.
The Academy presently lists three certification degrees. ACIM.TSC is the first. Later degrees have their own acceptance requirements and should not be treated as automatically included with this enrollment.
Teacher of Students
The current course: an official certification addition to the Intensive focused on training to teach students of ACIM.
Teacher of Teachers
The later masters-level program is application-only. Its page requires completion of the entire Intensive, successful completion of Teacher of Students, and open, active communication with Rev. Devan Jesse Byrne.
View 2nd Degree →Creator of Teachers
The Academy currently describes this later degree as a masters program following Teacher of Teachers, with step-by-step guidance toward developing a unique ACIM course offered in partnership with the Academy.

Rev. Devan Jesse Byrne
Mystic • Spiritual Teacher • Trance-Channeler
Devan is presented as a spiritual teacher and mystic whose path was shaped by a profound death experience, an inner guide present since early childhood, and decades of devoted spiritual practice. His background includes alternative healing, meditation, energy work, A Course In Miracles, biblical material, direct revelation, and exploration of unseen or multidimensional experience.
Across the Open & Clear ACIM programs, his emphasis is that claims alone cannot give another person proof. The student must discover through direct experience. That principle matters especially in a teacher-certification path: the goal is not simply to repeat language, but to communicate from a depth of practice and understanding that has become increasingly lived.
Build the foundation—or deepen the part of the curriculum you need most.
The certification is deliberately not an isolated course. The Intensive is its required foundation, while the Experience and Manual for Teachers provide different levels of support for Workbook practice and Manual study.

Meaningful course imagery or embedded media found in the existing course presentation is retained here automatically.
What to understand before entering the 1st degree.
What exactly is ACIM.TSC?
ACIM.TSC is the Academy’s Teacher of Students Certification, identified as the 1st-degree certification addition and amendment to A Course In Miracles Intensive. Its stated purpose is training to teach students of A Course In Miracles.
The curriculum uses the Manual for Teachers as a central text while requiring quizzes, written essays, video lectures, an application form, and completion assignments. This makes it distinct from simply taking a discussion course about the Manual.
Do I need the A Course In Miracles Intensive?
Yes. The current public description explicitly says that you must have access to the A Course In Miracles Intensive to do this program. The certification is presented as an addition to the Intensive rather than a stand-alone replacement for it.
If you do not already have access, begin with the Intensive enrollment page. The separate A Course In Miracles Experience and Manual for Teachers courses do not substitute for this stated ACIM.TSC requirement.
Must I finish the entire Intensive before starting the 1st degree?
The 1st-degree page states that you must have access to the Intensive; it does not explicitly say on this page that all 365 lessons must already be completed before entering ACIM.TSC.
That distinction changes at the 2nd degree: the Teacher of Teachers page explicitly requires completion of the entire Intensive and successful completion of the Teacher of Students program. This page therefore does not add a completion requirement that the 1st-degree listing itself does not state.
How is this different from the separate Manual for Teachers course?
The separate Manual for Teachers course is a 31-lesson discussion of the Manual’s introduction and twenty-nine sections. It has no stated prerequisite and is designed for understanding and spiritual application whether or not you intend to teach formally.
ACIM.TSC is the certification pathway. It requires access to the Intensive and adds assessment and demonstration through part quizzes, written essays, recorded video lectures, an application form, and completion assignments.
How much material is in the certification?
The current course lists 74 lessons and 5.5 hours of video content. The curriculum is organized into an Introduction, twelve numbered parts, and Completion Assignments.
The twelve parts parallel lesson ranges across the 365-lesson Intensive structure while distributing the Manual for Teachers sections and repeated assessment tasks throughout the program.
What are the writing and video requirements?
The requirements intentionally become more substantial over time. Parts 1–3 use 300-word essays and five-minute video lectures. Parts 4–6 move to 600 words and seven minutes; Parts 7–9 to 900 words and ten minutes; and Parts 10–12 to 1,200 words and fifteen minutes.
The Completion Assignments culminate in a 2,000-word essay and a twenty-minute video lecture, followed by the final listed assignments.
Are there free previews?
Yes. The course currently marks the first five introductory lessons as free previews: Introduction to Certification, A Course In Miracles Intensive (ACIMi) Course, Teacher Certification Degrees, Quiz/Written & Video Essays, and The Manual for Teachers Introduction.
The page also advertises “Preview for Free,” and the preview button on this redesign uses the existing free-trial enrollment route.
What are the three payment choices?
The current choices are $3,333.33 as the Full Value price, $333.33 as the Discounted Price, and $36.63 per month as a subscription offer.
All three routes point into the same 1st-degree certification course. This redesign preserves the exact checkout destinations rather than calculating or inventing an alternative payment amount.
Does this certification represent a government, academic, or professional teaching license?
The public course presents ACIM.TSC as an Open & Clear spiritual/religious certification for teaching students of A Course In Miracles. It does not state that the credential is a government teaching license, academic degree, state licensure, or authorization to practice a regulated profession.
It should therefore be understood within the Academy’s spiritual, religious, educational, and devotional context unless additional verified credential information is separately provided.
What comes after Teacher of Students?
The Academy currently lists a 2nd-degree Teacher of Teachers program and a 3rd-degree Creator of Teachers program. These are separate courses with separate requirements.
The 2nd-degree page is application-only and explicitly requires completion of the entire Intensive, successful completion of Teacher of Students, and open, active communication with Rev. Devan Jesse Byrne. The Academy describes the 3rd degree as following Teacher of Teachers and focusing on developing a unique ACIM course in partnership with the Academy.
Do I have to identify as Christian?
A Course In Miracles uses Christian terminology, but the broader Open & Clear ACIM programs frame the work as experiential rather than requiring denominational belief. The emphasis is on practice, direct spiritual experience, and personal realization.
Terms such as “God,” “Christ,” forgiveness, and Truth can therefore be approached through sincere application and the spiritual understanding meaningful to the student, while still studying the Course’s own language carefully enough to communicate it responsibly.
Does certification guarantee spiritual attainment or teaching success?
No. Completing assignments or receiving a spiritual certification does not guarantee awakening, ascension, healing, income, professional success, student enrollment, or any other particular outcome.
The program is offered within a spiritual, religious, educational, and devotional context. Individual experience varies, and spiritual study does not replace qualified medical, psychological, legal, financial, academic, licensing, or emergency guidance where those forms of expertise are needed.
Program context: all information, services, and content are offered by Undefinable and Expansive Inc., an IRS-recognized nonprofit 501(c)(3) religious and spiritual organization doing business as Open & Clear, within a spiritual, religious, educational, and devotional context. No specific outcome, result, healing, transformation, teaching career, or effect is promised or guaranteed. Ministers, mentors, practitioners, and facilitators serve as spiritual and religious advisors and do not provide medical, psychological, legal, financial, academic, licensing, or emergency services unless expressly stated with verified credentials.
